You install this with a press, not a crystal lift…

Yep, TIL 😀 I was just coming back to say I found an old post of yours that said exactly this!

I had originally ordered 3 31.1mm crystals.

The first broke as I mentioned above. Then, I tried the press, and I SUSPECT I used too small of a die, and it split the edge of the crystal off. BUT, 3rd time was the charm! I used a little bit bigger of a die, and there was a very mild 'snap!', then the crystal was in place 😀 Of course I only found your post after I ordered some other crystals, so I have some spares for... next time.

Actually... I could swear I saw videos in the past of folks using the lift and that little credit-card sizes offset tool to set a crystal in the past... So I just though that was the way those worked!

Either way, seems to be a success, and I'm glad I learned it in a plain crystal instead of a good one.

AH! Now that I see you saying "press fit" like that, means a 'press' 😀 I took it to mean "interference fit" (like in machining).

Anyway, there was an older one that came up in googling where you were more explicit.

I DID just realize I ordered TWO crystals but the seller sent THREE! I managed to break 2, so the 3rd one ended up being lucky 😀
