Just a thought - If I had a 2998 that I wanted to sell for way more of the market value. Would it be a good move to post it with a huge price tag and then claim it sold and a few days later come back with a similar watch at a slightly lower price and claim its a bargain? Just a hypothetical question of course....

from what I hear about the seller, I'd hardly expect that from them. High priced yes but very reputable.

Having transacted with EWC a few times I can say that from my experience they are rational, reasonable and legitimate.

Rational=consistent,logical or sensible
Reasonable=$99,000
Legitimate=wrong bezel definitely.

Just speaking from my experiences with them, not every transaction that they do.

So I pulled out my MWO book and am curious as to why you view the EW watch as having the wrong Bezel. According to the book either syle 1 or 2 is correct. Don't disagree on the crazy price. Thanks

Interesting discussion, guys. MattBain's 2998 (which contains parts of the ebay watch) has been making its rounds. It's not the EWC watch.
it has travelled from ebay to new owner(s) to Davidoff Brothers and eventually to Matt.

Good community detective work. It's scary how the 2998 at Matt's has transformed (subdial touch up, bezel swap, case damage).
