Very nice, though I'd be surprised if it sold at the offer price.

Nice watch - but, in my opinion, very expensive even in these times of soaring prices.

Interesting how the lollipop looks like, relume or light effect?

This dealer in particular sets atmospheric prices and negotiates very quickly. It didn't sell for $99K, I can guarantee you that.

$99k is almost December 2015 Christie's price for a perfect 2915-2.
FWIW, the 2998-2 Base 1000 is correct but only fair-good quality.

You speak bad of watches, yet you don't know how the wind will blow and the seeds fall. When you are making, in the garage better ones?

I don't know much about the pricing of Speedmasters, but that is a nice premium for a lollipop.

You will never know what will be in 10 years - maybe the Speedy bubble will have burst and prices will have come back to a reasonable level...
only time will tell

I need to avoid these threads. They are straining my 2998 owner experience. I don't think I'm alone. If its gonna sit in my safe I may as well sell it but then some other collector gets to enjoy it and not me. So wear it I will.

To add on... not sure that's a great return, you're essentially looking at a 8.5% CAGR - assuming that you bought in at 40 (debatable) and can sell at 90 (seems reasonable, but who knows) in 10 years. Putting it into the stock market might be a better bet.

That said, you can't really wear any shares of Google or Amazon or whatever you bought, so...
