It seems like the US was spared a price increase this go around.
Has this ever happened before?
Maybe is just a matter of hours to update.

Strange thing is international site still reflects €7.1k (no webshop) but selecting Italian webshop it's €7.7k for the Speedy sapphire on bracelet.

Not 100% sure.

I'm sure it has when the GBP and EUR devalued against the $ but seems like the FX rate has been pretty stable for awhile.

Some but not all AD's have raised their prices in their webshop in the Netherlands.

I did go in my AD last Friday , checking for a Moonwatch .I did not buy it since it isn't a watch for me , but 1 already had the new pricetag on , since it was 28th Jan , the old price was still applied ( if i did buy it ) . I told him knowing about price increase , and he said correct , roughly 8% across the range . He also told me that they were informed end of December of the upcoming price increase .
BTW i went home with a Seamaster 300M black .

Strange, for example Tensen in Antwerp is still listing the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 42mm 310.30.42.50.01.002 for €7.100, on the international Omega site it also states €7.100 but in the German webshop it's €7.500.

It was there to be correct , i've tried several of the Moonwatches on , 1 already had the new pricetag of 7600E ( aka 500 euro rise ) .

Even stranger their webshop still didn't reflect it per yesterday.

True , especially since he confirmed me also that the prices would rise from 1st of Feb , and there was already 1 new pricetag on . Also the international website still got the old prices , but at Clem Vercammen ( another dealer in Belgium) , website from last week already had a price increase on a Blue 300M of 5700euro , while the black and silver version still got the 5400 price . Are they phasing out and not increasing the prices for the ones in stock , and new ones coming in at the new price ?

Don't think so, I've seen the A17 40th at Tensen for a RRP of €6.2k (pretty sure it was around 5k at the time of release), but he had it already 8 years in the window.

I remember the Houston OB had one for nearly a decade in the window.

Surely one the OB was happy to give a discount on to get it out the door?

Can you imagine how many would still be unsold if they had made the LE quantities like the Bond or Trilogy editions.

That's something I should ask them next time I go to the OB. I know they typically stick to the 0 discounts but will give out free swag and accessories.

Stopped by the NYC Boutique yesterday. The “Director” (equivalent of a manager?) said there will be price increases March 1.

Gave 0 discount on a sapphire Speedy Pro, steel bracelet. Back-ordered 2 weeks. Bucherer had no steel bracelet Pro’s. Their service was pretty bad. The girl in the Omega section didn’t really know the difference from Hesalite and sapphire

That's interesting, perhaps the US price increase is one month behind the rest of the world for whatever reason.

I don't expect these big stores to offer the most technical knowledge, they drive the sales people hard, just like car dealerships. They have to perform or they are out. They want nice looking people who can close the sale, doesn't matter if it's washing machines, gutters for the home, or wristwatches.....it's just product to move along. And frankly, the people shopping at Tourneau, now Bucherer, are not the most technically sophisticated.

I’ve seen several AD staff who don’t know the difference between the hesalite and sapphire. I always end up giving the obligatory hesalite/space-shatter story each time to their amazement.

I’ve also seen several watch salespeople who don’t even wear watches. Once at a Tudor/Rolex AD, a saleswomen thought the Tudor BB GMT hand was a stopwatch.

Lack of product knowledge is everywhere across retail (cars, hardware, etc.).
