Hi Guys,

I have done a little more digging with regard to the bracelet, it looks to me to be a 1098 which is from 1960's Seamaster. Therefore I don't think it's the correct bracelet.

This makes me wonder if there was a Seamaster used as a donor for the movement as it was 1967, 2 years before the 1969 release of the Speedmaster Mark 2.

This is turning into a minefield! Haha

Thank you

Kev

Yep, the trapezium logoed bracelet is more indicative of early 70's. Serial number in the 25xxxxx's is also a big alarm bell. Looks like a put together watch. I don't know what you're expecting to fork out, but if you're patient , you should be able to get one in the 1400-2000 UKP range. Sites like Chrono24 are generally really expensive.

Chipsotoole,

So it may be a bitsa (bit of this and bits of that!) That's a real shame as it looks clean.

Thank you for the input.

I have found one more, looks more the correct bracelet this time and the seller has confirmed is 1969 although I'm not sure how he can be so sure.

It's been refinished by an independent watch service and comes with a 2 year guarantee, handily in the UK.

The case still has the sunburst but it's not too clear to me (not having much experience) if it's been overfinshed and lost some of the original shape?

Again any help appreciated!

Kev

pictures aren't good enough to tell and you def. don't want to be buying a watch from a seller who isn't providing a movement shot...not at this price bracket......Patience....Here's my '69... bought 3 years ago for 1200 UKP + 200 to service. Not in top notch condition and sunburst finish appears to have naturally faded over time...no telltale signs of polishing as far as I can tell. Never did change the scratched crystal out, kept the stretched original bracelet and I put the corfam strap on something else.....all in all I reckon a bargain. But prices do keep rising for these..even though they are relatively common...
