Another shot for prosperity. This time in sunlight. Really interesting dial color... not quite black..blueish really. Sharp!
Do like. Think you did a bang up job on the NATO match to the Aquafresh ( ) . Think there's a whole thread in straps for modern Aerospace GMTs. What number you snag?
They may have made the night time portion of the bezel lighter so you could see it easier at a glance in low light. The color scheme reminds me of my first automobile, a 1957 Chevy station wagon. The same colors as the Belaire pictured in an earlier post though the body was almost all blue with only the rear fender trim filled in green. It was commonly called "Lard Can Blue" because a popular brand of lard in those days came in a metal can painted in the same colors.
Oh no! Thought for sure you were going to pull the trigger! I see a few for sale on watch recon but over retail...
How does the Aquafresh Sea Wolf compare to the Gulf Aerospace? Same specs aside from colorway and branding on the dial?
Some additional thoughts...it's definitely a fun watch and a nice change up from my current collection of mostly black dial/bezel SS sports watches. I like that its unique and that I'm not likely to see others in the wild. Had a few quibbles with the bracelet, so think I'll stick with the NATO for a while. Bracelet isnt terrible and the SEL did give it a solid feel, but I'm spoiled by the Oyster on my Sub - theres no comparison. Crown is a bit small and doesnt have the smoothest action, but typical for this price point I guess- similar action to my Sinn 104. I absolutely love the dial color in the light. It's like a blueish -black ...hard to describe but amazing to look at when the light catches it. I know the bezel is polarizing for some, but I dig the color scheme. Even got a compliment from my wife who usually just rolls her eyes when I buy a new watch, so that's saying something. Overall, very happy and look forward to making some memories with this one! Oh, and couldn't resist one more wrist shot!
That was assigned to me years ago by a legendary squirrel, now departed, known for his acerbic wit. I had been over zealous in my love for a certain brand with a crown as its logo.
Mine has just arrived and the gmt hand does not align with the hour markers correctly. It seems to be about 15 mins out. Anybody else has this problem?
