The GMT hand is supposed to line up with the Bezel (insert) ... not the hour indices.

Mine works fine. There's a bit of play when setting ...a bit of a loose feel when turning the crown, but ultimately works fine. As Larry S says, set it against the bezel markers (not the hour markers). I have both hands set to local time right now (1:55pm - see pic), and will set the 24 hr hand to central time when I travel to Houston tmrw. This is different from how I used my GMT 2, which had a jumping hour hand. With that I would set the hour hand to local time and keep the 24 hr on home time. Btw, really like having the quick set date, which my Rolex didn't have...

So are you saying the bezel markers are also not "supposed" to line up with the hour markers? That's a first for me...makes me wonder how you line that hand up with the movement out of the case...;)

GMT hand tracks 24 hour bezel. I’m assuming OP has never owned a GMT watch before.

The GMT hand may "track" the bezel, but the bezel markers line up with the dial markers, at least if the watch is made properly. Therefore the hand should also line up with the dial markers. Trust me I've serviced a lot of GMT watches, so I know how this works.

As I mentioned, the bezel isn't there when you are installing the hands, so it's impossible to line the hands up with the bezel on installation. The hands are all lined up to markers on the dial when they are installed, so if these don't line up with markers as they should, it's a quality issue.

When you realize your new Zodiac GMT matches the color of your favorite team...Go Seahawks! (Maybe we should call it the "Seahawk"?!)

I think you meant "posterity" and autocorrect took over :)

I love the cheerful tropical color scheme as the watch isn't trying to pretend to be some stern tool watch reincarnation.

however do me a favor...put the freakin thing back on it's bracelet and put away the tools before someone gets hurt.

Nope, I actually meant prosperity, as in "abundance or wealth" vs posterity which actually means "future or future state". It was a play on words, but thanks for policing my grammar. Oh, and it is back on bracelet as you can see in other pictures on this thread, but I like variety so will definitely not be putting the tools away :)

Oh- I know. It’s just the chutzpah that gets me, selling an LE watch within a week of its release for far more than MSRP, we know what these people are- please, nobody support these ass-hats.

I think initially a couple of the Gulfs sold at 2.7 on forums, but given this Hodinkee release took longer to sell out than the original Zodiac.com release, I doubt these will trade above MSRP. Hopefully the speculators will learn a tough lesson

    New year incoming.

Hodinkee not only paid for shipping but also for customs duties and taxes.
