Had it in my cart earlier but didn’t really feel it. The Gulf colorway is the only one I really like, and even then it’s too extroverted for me
My thoughts exactly. Thought about it briefly, made some calls with people who usually talk sense into me, then proudly informed my wife that I'd restrained myself. She then slow-clapped me and asked if I wanted a thumbs-up sticker.

On a related note: last time I checked (~5 mts ago) they hadn't sold out yet—now that's a first!

I'm gathering the Aquafresh isn't as strong a colour scheme as the previous Gulf, however, I've been wondering if some folks out there are put off by the Hodinkee hookup?

I could be wrong, but I don’t think it’s a true Hodinkee collaboration. Normally, they’d have their name plastered somewhere on the caseback with some input on the design from the team. Appears to be a true LE from Zodiac that the shop is selling on their behalf?

It's not a Hodinkee LE, it's another colorway of the already-limited Zodiac GMT line that's just being sold exclusively by Hodinkee.

Anyway, looks like they finally sold it out. I think this one took longer than the originals sold directly by Zodiac, no?

Actually on par or slightly less. Gulf sold out within 24 hrs (about the same time as Aquaman) and the original blue colorway took a few days

I guess they are trying to stay away from the traditional Pepsi, Coke, Batman GMT dials. However, (and with all due respect to those who have purchased this one) I don’t get the appeal. First, I totally agree with the post saying that on a GMT bezel the dark color should represent the night time hours. Second, and call me old-fashioned if you want, I would definitely prefer the blue on top and a creamy white color representing daytime hours, with a blue GMT hand. As is this watch does not speak to me at all.

Interesting comment. To me it's less about a homage style piece (which the traditional bezel inserts you cite represent) and more about having somethings that's a bit unique, playful, and functional (GMT + diver specs). Personally, I like this color scheme better than orange, but it's really just a matter of style preference. I may change my tune once I see it in the metal (and buying online without trying on first is always a leap of faith), but really like what I see so far...

I think that if I wasn't getting that Aquadive Poseidon GMT next week, I might have snagged the Zodiac a couple of days ago when I first saw it. I did the vintage vibe in it's design. I don't mind the color scheme although I agree that the darker color should be on top. Maybe I thought that the sea green should be below a blue sky?

Nice eye catching colour combo, as already mentioned though does seem wrong way around(the darker side should be the evening hours).

If I had the money if have been very tempted, but then I anyways am to be saying that 😗

To each his own. It would be boring if we all liked the same thing. I’m just not into vibrant or pastel colors. I wouldn’t buy this watch for the same reason I wouldn’t buy a diver with an orange dial even though there are many out there who love that look. It just isn’t me. I applaud them for trying to do something different. It’s just not in my wheelhouse. As for the night/day thing. Night is dark. Day is light. That part of it is not subjective. I would really like to hear why they decided to turn that upside down. To me, that messes with the functionality of the watch. A GMT with an outer 24 hour bezel should not only be able to tell you what time it is in a second time zone, you should be able to glance quickly at it and determine whether it is nighttime or daytime in that time zone without necessarily focusing on the exact hour. Just one man’s opinion.

I have a feeling these will be going for right at/under on the secondary market. It’s a very niche colorway, and not a ton of people are into it. May just pick one up down the road.

Hey guys, Aquaman just landed. Pic heavy, so apologies in advance. Overall opinion is that I am really happy with the watch. The sea green colorway at the top makes it fun and interesting. Definitely adds something unique to the collection. The watch feels solid on the wrist, and overall bracelet is ok, but you'll see I quickly switched to a NATO. Setting the 24 hour hand felt a bit loose and doesnt snap into place the way the jumping hour did on my GMT 2, but fine once you get the feel of it. Take a look and let me know what you think!
