Hello everyone,

While surfing online I encountered this Omega Ref. 131.019 SP Cal. 601. dating from the 1960's I thought.
I'm fairly new at vintage Omega watches, but read a fair amount about it on here and thought I'd try to examine this watch.
out of my own investigation it seems to all check out.

Could any of you have a glance and help me with if this watch is genuine? Also, I am not a watch maker so find it hard to examine the insides of the watch. Does any of you see any damaging or signs it has to be serviced?

Last question, when everything is checks out. What would be a fair price range to pick up such a watch. I Myself was thinking around 400-600 euro's. Thank you in advance for your help!

400-600 euro is way too high for a manual wind Geneve, these are more around 200-300

What makes that you think it is not that attractive?
Dial not that great and strange case wear on the back

I see, I will continue looking for one with a better dial.

No need to quote posts direct above 👍

Plenty of them around so look for a good one with recent service in the EU 😉

The dial has some spots, but it would probably look ok on the wrist; this is really a matter of personal taste. Not a bad choice for a first vintage Omega if the price is right, but this is definitely an entry-level piece.

Bear in mind this is a snap back case, so more basic than the entry level screw back Geneves. Ok as a first piece of your budget is very tight but otherwise I’d look a other refs

I’d suggest search the forum, inc WRUW thread to see what you like.
For a first vintage Omega I think 166.002, 166.070, 166.003, 166.010, 166.020 but that’s my personal preference.
