Your opinion on a Centenary

Hi folks,

I'm not primarily looking for solid gold vintages, but they keep popping up in my searches 😀.

Here's another I would like your opinion on, a Centenary dated to 1944. The condition is not as nice as many example in this great thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/centenary-2500-jub-serial-numbers.12752/.

E.g the dial has probably been polished a few times, hence the fading script and the faded or lost facets on some of the diamond hour marks. The case has most likely also suffered polishing, but the bezel at least still shows some facetting. Though not in the most desirable condition, it's kind of hard to just ignore it given there are only 4000 out there.

So the magical question, what's a fair price?

It's exactly worth, what you are willing to pay for it. Is it signed Jub under the balance? EoA with it?

According to the provided pics my price suggestion would be EUr 2000 to max EUR 2500.
(you checked whether case nr and movement nr are matching for a 2500?)

Crown isn't original but I am sure you noticed this before.

The number of the movement is 10759363, which according Desmond's article http://users.tpg.com.au/mondodec//Omega_Constellation_Gene_Pool.pdf falls into that range. It would also fall into the range of the table in thread in my original post.

As for the case number, it's 10725655. Where do I check whether it corresponds to the movement number? I do not see the logic or system between the two number series?

Thanks for pointing out the crown. I should have noticed it, as it's plain and obvious 🤦, but was too blinded by excitement, which has toned down a few notches.

Unfortunately, no papers. Neither are there more pictures of the movement. But I may get a chance to look at it the seller's shop before even considering placing a bid.

For the record, it finally went for less than EUR 1'400. I guess priced according to the conditions and certain flaws. I didn't participate in the end as I realized that such a watch would just end up collecting dust in my closet, and for that it's still too much money. Thanks for your comments and interest.

Is this the final price or is there a buyers premium to add?

If not I would say this is a very reasonable price for a centenary in this condition.

Yes, final price, no further premium.
