I phoned the store and apparently they said that the core of the strap is not waterproof? Have you guys found this to be an issue, for example, if you go swimming? I mean, one of the main reason to get a nylon strap is so that it's waterproof so that you can get it wet at anytime.

Haven't tried; would not anyway swim with that bracelet; for swimming would use the metal bracelet.

This is strange. When I spoke to the store salesperson, she said none of their straps are waterproof. That makes no sense to me as nylon is not just a fashion accessory. It's also functional. That is, it's waterproof. You would think that common logic dictates that they would conclude that someone might want to be able to swim or get this strap wet? Common sense is no longer so common.

Your sense is common sense. The inside of the strap is leather. If you want it to be waterproof, you’ll need to have it on rubber or the titanium bracelet. I really like the cordura strap but I wear my PO if it’s going to get wet. I’m sure you can find a blue rubber strap to fit the watch somewhere.

Hmm, nylon is what Nato straps are made of. It's as if they sandwiched leather in between nato straps. It makes no sense. Blancpain, the inventor of dive watches, have sailcloth (nylon) straps with probably rubber in between for their FiftyFathoms. They're used for diving just like the Nato. Rubber straps and bracelets have completely different wearing characteristics than nylon. Bracelets are heavy and scratch easily, Rubber is stiff and rubs the skin the wrong way. Again, there are specific performance reasons why people pick nylon, it's not just for the looks.

Depends what you mean by waterproof, if you mean it's protected in some way from the water, then no but it can withstand getting soaked, but that's also the case with a lot of fabric that you wouldn't label as waterproof. In any case, it still sounds like some kind of salesman BS.

How do you know that these nylon straps don't have leather sandwiched between the nylon? I was thinking of double checking with their main store in Paris.

Trying to justify the AT Bond LE when I already have a Milgauss.
Seem to fill similar purposes... Just a different colorway.

That being said. I made the purchase yesterday! My first aqua terra incoming and is supposed to arrive tomorrow morning!

Beautiful. That’s got to be my favourite on the thread so far. Care to share the reference number with me so I can have a google?

Big birthday this year, so am very close to pulling the trigger on a new blue AT.

Now I'm full blown AT obsessed at the moment, so let's see them! Prove to me it's a good idea haha
I really like mine. Bought it to commemorate closing a deal 2 years in making.Thought I wanted a Rolex Datejust 41in blue w/fluted bezel until I tried it on, then settled on Globemaster until I went to Omega Boutique & tried it alongside the Aqua Terra. Houston Boutique was great to deal with... 2 straps & clasp thrown in as comp for paying MSRP.
