Big birthday this year, so am very close to pulling the trigger on a new blue AT. Now I'm full blown AT obsessed at the moment, so let's see them! Prove to me it's a good idea haha
I have the 8500 38.5mm 'Skyfall' Aqua Terra as I prefer the darker blue colour, vertical lines and framed date aperture.
Any positives/negatives with the new rubber strap? That's the variant I'm planning to get (probably tonight once this wine kicks in) but wanted to make sure there were no problems with the rubber. I have a Seamaster bracelet already so I can always throw that on if I get in the bracelet mood....
Personally, I'm a big fan. It's probably one of my most comfortable watches. I heat up quite easily and live in a fairly humid place so the rubber holds up nicely and is easy to wipe off at the end of the day. The deployant clasp is also top notch - feel secure, has a satisfying click and not too bulky. Rubber with the orange stitching certainly makes it more casual vs. bracelet or leather but I personally like the contrast and consistency with orange highlights. The color is also a little darker than it looks in the above picture and the "faux hatching" looks nicer in person IMO - make sure you check it out in person. Not sure how it will age since I've only had it for < 1 month but I suspect the rubber might deteriorate over time and some of the stitching might fray.
I love this line so much that I had to spring for both the older 2500 and an 8500, both in blue -- you can't go wrong with any color or movement when it comes to the AT!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: every watch collection should have a blue-dialed Aqua Terra in it. Here's mine.
Gorgeous - did you get the bracelet brush after the purchase? Or is there one fully brushed available?
