Also, can anyone recommend a good reference book or website for vintage Yema?

Le club yema on the web is really the best resource. https://leclubyema.com/
    I
don’t really have an idea of production numbers, but they are not very common watches, especially the professional models. Seems like they were very much an upstart brand and indeed, they were only around for ~15 years when they came out with the Superman.

A few, that is.... In addition, they can all be translated into English on the Le Club site....

I finally found one Yema GMT bronze blue in 39 mm to buy, I will come back soon with pictures. My first bronze watch, first GMT and first watch from my country La France !
    :)

I am curious about the patina it can develop

Congrats!! I also just bought my first Yema over the weekend out of France. Its a 550016 Superman. Below are a few photos from the Seller. I will post more as soon as it arrives -- likely in a few weeks. For those Yema aficionados out there, any comments or critiques are welcome. M

I must say that they do nice blue (and green) dials.

Congratulations and wear it in good health :)

Trying it out first on a green Tropic I had lying around - it looks nice but I think it might be washing out the blue a bit. Will be experimenting today!

Nah... The green is too dark. A red could be nice or s light grey suede strap :)

The lighting in that photo wasn’t quite optimal but I’ve tried this racing-style strap next.

Don't have anything like that on hand but a big part of it is just how difficult it seems to be to properly photograph this watch.

    * should note that it comes on a chestnut brown strap (as well as an extra Tropic, both with nice signed brown buckles). But I don't quite love that strap.

Next up is this custom leather NATO I haven’t been making much use of lately.

Looks very nice and wears well, but I feel like the bronze vibe is a bit too elegant for a NATO... at least until it starts to oxidize.

Think I’m going to wait until Tropic fixes the case ends on the 20mm model then buy a brown one.

Looks good to me, I don't find the NATO undervalue the elegance of the watch. It looks a nice leather, and colour combination is good
