I hadn’t seen the Yema thread previously but I’ll admit to being an ‘L’ plate with my Superman skin diver limited edition. I’m predominantly a vintage Omega and Seiko acquirer so this was a step or two sideways but I’m impressed with the overall look and quality of the watch, and the bracelet is a beauty!

I saw it on Instagram for sale and pounced on it. Seller was in the Netherlands and sent it to France for me to get a full service by the expert Patrick Batilou who runs La Club Yema.

Thanks. Well done! It seems there are several vintage Yema coming out of the Netherlands. I have acquired two from there, but your piece is still on my hunting list…. Really hard to find. Best! M

I will let you know if I find one. Took me about 3 years. Are you on the hunt for a ‘63 yet?

Yes, will do. The Yachtingraf is so rad, you would love one. I feel like my next grail will be the Yachtingraf regatta in the smaller sized case.

Smae Yema news! I fied this 270016 quartz Superman years ago, but the keyless work never really behaved. I just slapped a NOS ESA 944.111 in there and it is working like a clock! Love the patina on this one.

Also, there is a Le Club Yema Facebook group and on there I learned that the new production supermen has a short crown tube that makes it so only a few threads are caught when you screw down the crown. This results in stripped crowns. The only modern one I have is the Mauby Dick, so I have removed the bezel block on it.
