Definitely not just mine then! But I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing 馃憥

It's odd because it sort of sounds OK... 60, 90, 120... so I keep expecting a diver to chime in and it be a real 'doh' moment. But then the spec on their website says 120 so who knows!

I've contacted Yema and the guy said he'll get back to me on Monday so we'll see....

It will be interesting to hear their response since they spec'd it at 120. I'm not a diver but I'd be surprised if it's driven by something diver related. I'm guessing something in the production process made the 120 unfeasible. 90 just gives a smoother action than 60.

Yep it will be interesting to see what they say.

I never used the bezels until recently but then started using it to mark when my parking runs out and now I use it all the time as my memory is shocking. The actual amount of clicks doesn't really bother me too much but I think at points the dial and bezel don't align and it looks slightly wonky... This is what's driving me nuts, it's only a touch and I can't get my head around if it's the 1.5 clicks bit that's doing it or simply that the bezel is slightly misaligned.

It's the sort of thing I might have never noticed but now it jumps out at me and if the two things are unrelated then I don't really care how many times it clicks!

Just thought I'd post their reply re the 90 click thing....

"It's most likely a confusion because of our wording: The 120 divisions graduation correspond to the outer bezel ring. The bezel comes with 90 evenly-spaced clicks per a single 360-degree rotation i.e. each click goes four degrees vs. 60 minute markers per single 360-degree rotation i.e. each minute marker goes six degrees after the previous one.

The common denominator is 12 degrees. So the 90-click bezel goes three clicks for every two minutes. This doesn't affect bezel functionality in any significant way. It is smoother and allows more precision than a 60-click bezel, it will do just as good a job if you're using it for a dive. On another note you might have noticed as well that we have privileged a 0-60 scale bezel with markers every 5 minutes with no increased resolution for the first 15 minutes on the scale.

In all cases remember that the bezel is ALWAYS to be aligned to the minute hand AND NOT to the minute markers on the dial, many people are confused about this fundamental aspect. In this case, having more clicks in the bezel (90 vs 60) would get you a better chance of getting closer to the minute hand wherever it may be sitting."

It's weird because the spec on their website says the bezel is graduated in 120 divisions which to me sounds like it's meant to be 120 not 90.

I'm confused by the whole thing to be honest and it's put me off the watch - especially as I ordered it based on the fact I was told I could have my late father's birthday as the Ltd edition number and they've got it wrong and now each time I ask they say they'll get back to me and then don't. The last time was Tuesday and they said they would get back to me the next day... 4 days later and nothing. 馃檨

the limited edition issue is unlikely to be resolved unless they give you the contact details for the person that has it and they agree to a trade. I鈥檓 sure all of the watches have shipped by now.

I鈥檝e seen a few on eBay now but more the 41mm than the 39mm.

My number is actually easy for them to fix as they had agreed to give me a number outside the standard limited edition range (sounds crazy but it's true) so actually all they need to do is send me a second caseback with the correct number and either I'll switch it over or my watchmaker will... No big fuss really but by avoiding dealing with it they have made it in to one.

And, of course, if it had turned up with the correct number I would have be so overjoyed with it I may not have noticed the weird bezel for long enough for it to be too late to complain!

Both in San Diego. I bought one for each son. My oldest loves his, wears it daily. My other son prefers to use his cell phone, so I'm wearing it until he gets some sense.

They look awesome, but I'm glad I didn't bight now OHS has described the bezel lock. I like to just grab the bezel & twist.
Perhaps the 120 division refers to the serrations outside the bezel?

Having to unscrew crown to set/move bezel is such a pain, I doubt I ever use the bezel, so no big deal to me.

I think that is what they are now saying it refers to... I'm pretty sure that isn't what it actually originally referred to though!

I'm also not a big fan of the 'ghost date' (their terminology not mine). I find it odd pulling the crown out and feeling it clicking through dates that you can't see...but maybe that's just me. I thought they talked about a purpose made no date movement but obviously not.

Very cool looking watches though for sure!

I鈥檝e been enjoying mine. I wasn鈥檛 sure how I felt about it at first but it has grown on me and I鈥檝e been wearing it daily. Looking forward to seeing the bronze patina over time. The lugs and crown edges are sharp! Thing that bothers me most is that the hash mark on the bezel is not centered in the window of the crown lock! Why not?! Would have been so easy to do....

I have been wearing my Yema Superman Heritage Bronze for a few days and would like to share some thoughts here.

In short; I am thrilled with it! I have the 39mm and love its vintage charm and terrific build quality. The dial is fabulous and, as everyone says, pictures just don't capture the depth and subtle grading of that gorgeous inky blue face. The retro-looking lume is very cool and it has obviously been too long since I last had a new watch because the Super Luminova glow really knocked my socks off. My watch hasn't got the mismatched hand-lume versus dial-lume that some early reviews complained of, evident in some early promo pictures. The smooth-scrolling paddle second hand is a lovely touch and the crystal is brilliant. I personally find that the oversized arrow tip on the minute hand is far too big and that it jars against the seconds hand, especially, on the overlap. No doubt this choice for the minute hand will be cited as more vital diving functionality but I don't have to like it!

I am happy to see that most of my money went into the watch on my wrist. The downside to that is I found some of the other parts of the package, well, a bit cheap. I don't like the leather strap the mine came on at all (early reviews raved about a buttery soft tobacco-tinged strap, mine is a bland butterscotch thing I can't wait to change). I don't rate the spare straps much either. The freebies were disappointing too and my watch box has a worn leather corner outside and a grubby white insert within. It's like this superb watch was packaged up by a totally different company. Maybe it was....

I'd also like to pick up on some of the points above. I had no problem at all with my requested edition number but I can see how annoying it was for those who did. I would've loved a bronze or even bronze-coloured case back. The bezel lock is more than fine for me but I recognise that this is totally subjective. I use the bezel a few times a week and actually enjoy having even more interaction with the machine on my wrist. The case and crown have a lovely heft to them, reminiscent of some old Victorian townhouse plumbing or something, and everything just clocks and moves beautifully into place. It's a joy to play with the whole mechanism.

This piece is unlike anything else in my collection and I can see it is already going to be the perfect holiday companion. I'm looking forward to seeing how the elegantly brushed case changes over time too. In conclusion, I'd say that Yema absolutely nailed this re-edition and I'm delighted and grateful to all of you here for getting me onboard at such a low price 馃憤.

Reminds me a bit now of the Carl Brashear, don't know if its just the bronzy case and domed plexy but it looks great WIWP.

A few nights ago, in my somewhat inebriated state, I came to a realization that I needed a bronze diver in my collection. I knew they were popular and was even aware of some of the more desirable models but I had no urge to get a bronze watch until that night's epiphany. So, I web searched and checked in this forum for some bronze inspiration in the last couple days and lo and behold, I see this thread couple months too late which I completely missed until now. All I can say is damn. I really missed out on this one. Congrats to everyone who got the 39mm version. I think it was a steal.

I think Yema found it was a success too and they decided to continue making bronze divers (albeit slightly different than the limited edition ones). Still a nice watch, even at $1399. Apparently Yema is doing a Black Friday sale for the next ten days with 50% off some watches and 10% off everything else.

Bit of a story to mine. Received it in early November and initial thoughts were positive. Loved the look and although I sort of wished I'd specified the 41mm, after a few hours I was glad that I went with the 39mm.

Unfortunately the timekeeping was brutal, particularly at rest. Overnight it would gain more than 1 second per hour (dial up, crown up, crown down - all equally poor). On the wrist it was a bit better but still fast. Accuracy was down on the list with respect to my wants for this watch. Would've been happy with something close to Yema spec.

Yema was immediately responsive to the issue. It was sent back and they received the watch today for evaluation. Hopefully they can turn it around relatively quickly. Good to see that everyone else seems to be issue free.

Yikes. That sucks. I am glad Yema is engaged and ready to take care of it. Never owned a French made watch. I wonder if this problem is more wide spread with Yema in house movements.

i don't think yema is being completely honest with us.

they were suppose to make 1948 watches of the 39mm and 41mm

this is 3896 watches overall

i believe they roughly sold over 1200 of them with the kickstarter campaign.

after the campaign was over they offered around 260-70 watches as limited editions that you could buy for $1399 on their website.

there was no mention of having an estimate of 2700 left to buy, even though there was suppose to be 3896 watches made. i emailed about them and their CS rep was very dodgy when i asked about it. she said things along the lines of, we'll get back to you, or some watches were sold outside of the kickstarter campaign. obv they didn't sell over 2000 of them like this.

the only reason i asked these questions is because i wanted to see if i could buy another one but they just gave me different answers and basically lied to the same questions i asked.

as of now you can't even buy the watch on their site.

i really beginning to think that there's no way in hell are they going to make 3896...but really,..why be evasive about things?

well,...now we know where all the missing 1000+ bronze cases went that were suppose to blue dial leftovers available to buy

obv to house the other 2 new bronze watches they have.. thank's for being honest with us yema

I recently got to take my Yema on a proper beach holiday and had great fun with it. It was a joy to wear day and night and feels pretty bulletproof on the wrist. I think the case is starting to weather beautifully and the watch kept decent time despite being knocked about a fair bit in and out of the water. I'll admit to being too hard on the straps initially. On the beach I wore my Bronze for hours on the tropic one without a problem (having said that, I swapped out to a aftermarket leather one for the odd formal dinner in the evenings).

I bought this Superman fully intending it to be the designated holiday beater in the years ahead and I'm delighted that for me, at least, and despite some of Yema鈥檚 shenanigans, it perfectly hits the brief.
