Yema Heritage Bronze?

I just got an email to say that the spring bar toolkit target has been reached. One down, one to go!

Maybe you saw it, but they added a third target of 1948 pcs that would add a watchmakers loupe, gloves, cloth. Seems unlikely they hit that goal though. Honestly, the watch with 3 straps was all I really cared about but I certainly won't complain about the add-ons to the deal

I'm using this to try out a bronze watch with relatively little risk that I find visually appealing. I'm not going to sweat the details of the movement at that price point. As long as it's decent, I'm ok with it.

I owned a bronze watch several years back, I really like how the bronze ages. I would have kept it, but it was 45mm, so too big. I agree with you on this, very little risk if you like the look of this watch. I ended up ordering the 39mm and 41mm and look forward to getting these watches.

Yep agreed on that. The tiered freebies for me are stacked in actual order of desirability so I’m already very happy to have reached level one.

This is the first brand new watch I have bought in many years and, as you say, everything else on top of the watch itself is simply a brilliant bonus from now on.

I was very tempted. Have wanted a bronze watch for a while, but wanted one under 40mm. Size, blue dial - this ticked several boxes. But ultimately that bezel protector turned me off. I know it’s part of the watch’s history, and I can see it’s use in actual diving, but like so many of us wearing dive watches... I’m no diver. Swim, sure. Time stuff with the bezel, absolutely. So it was a no go, unfortunately.

But I’m excited to see members post pics when they’re delivered!

it's a stupid little feature. maybe this one can be removed without looking like it it was removed unlike the vintage models, where it looks naked without it.

im a lil worried about the movement.

seems like yonger drops it into a watch they're selling for 317 on amazon. obv it doesn't contain the upgrades and features of the yema bronze has, but still...what are we looking at as a price comparison for one of these?...doesn't look like an eta alternative, it seems below it.

I was very tempted and price on kickstarter was fantastic IMO. Might sound funny but the thing that stopped me was something perfectly displayed in the pic below. I really dislike long lugs where the holes are too deep leaving protruding lugs sticking out past the strap. Don't think I could have lived with that(with slim wrists it tends to be more exaggerated).

I don't mind the bezel protector, to me it's a design feature in the same category as say the bezel lock on a Glycine Airman. What would give me pause is the lug length and apparent flatness. It's this that put me off the Longines Legend diver - lovely watch, but the lug design means it will never sit well on my wrist.

From the picture above I suspect the Yema may well do the same. Pity, but if the lugs had been 1-1.5mm shorter and more angled/curved, it might have been a goer.

Glad that isn't only me then, and yes the Longines Legend Diver was another for me, same reason.

The 42mm legend fit me fine, but I appreciate the comment about the fit. I'm hoping that the Yema being 41mm will make a bit of difference. I bought both 39 and 41 for my boys (21/23 years), as in some point in time I will gift to them. The older has the same wrist as mine, so 41 should be a good fit. The youngest has smaller wrists, so hopefully the 39 fits him well.

Looking forward to October.

Lug to lug dimensions for reference:

Yema bronze, 39mm: 48mm

Yema bronze, 41mm: 49.5mm

Longines legend: 52mm

I was debating the 39 vs 41 Yema and decided on the 39. I was using my Speedy Pro and GMT Master ll as guides to what I was most comfortable with. Both those are 48mm. So although I was probably more comfortable with the 41mm case width, I decided to error on the side of caution and avoid the 49.5mm lug to lug.

I do think the Legend Diver is not a good comparison to either size of the Yema bronze, and especially not the 39mm, which is 4mm shorter than the Longines.

The curvature of the case would seem to mitigate a bit of the length

Am interested at the kickstarter price.

But not at 1399.

Unfortunately 699 ship has sailed. Will miss out on this one.

that pic makes it looks like a horned lugged bronze.

the new leather strap isn't making it look much better either. it doesn't look broken in nor does it create a good wrap around fit look.

if ace up is right and it's 48mm lug to lug ....it looks like it could be a skinny version of the fios, which could ruin the fit for some or at make it shift around more than they like.

my guess is that the 39mm will will wear much larger than you think and the 41mm will be a sloppy awkward fit like the crepas l'ocean, which sits up off the wrist, unless you have huge wrists...lol..

the l'ocean is 49/49.5..depending on who you ask

I'm with you.

I told my wife I paid just over a grand for the 39/41 package. I could not remember the price, but I don't think I was not that far off.

I suppose it's all down to the curvature of the lugs and the profile of your wrists. Just to illustrate, below a is picture of my Magrette. I (roughly) measured the lug-lug at 50mm, yet the curvature of the lugs makes it sit fine with no gaps or excessive sliding. My 2255.80 comes in somewhere between 46 - 47mm I estimate, and once again, the curvature of the lugs makes it a joy to wear.

As always. YMMV 😉

i guess we will see soon enough on how the fit is. with over 1500 sold, if it's an ill fit, many should be on the market shortly thereafter

in the pics from the fratello the watch does in fact look like it sits on top of the wrist with minimal wrap around. not a good sign for 7" and under wrist.

Regardless of your wrist size, I think if you're comfortable wearing a Speedy Pro you'll probably be ok with the Yema bronze. Same lug to lug length, and maybe even a slight more curvature of the case than the Speedy Pro. Certainly no less
