·Good morning/afternoon/evening amigos.
I'd like to throw myself at the mercy of the gen 1/2 X-33 community.
Some years back, being 2cheap2pay I thought I'd use a local watchmaker to change the battery on my gen 2 x-33. What should have been a fairly simple exercise for someone who knew what they were doing ended up with my watch missing it's inner case back and no way to recover the missing piece, other than lining Omega's palm with silver and gold.
I could do this, but where's the fun in that?
My plan now is to recreate the missing piece either through 3d printing a replacement out of Ti or by having a high-precision machine shop turn one, likely out of stainless steel, at least initially. If I can make something which makes the alarm work again, it might be fun to play with the resonant characteristics of the inner cover to vary the alarm tone. Maybe. At the very least, my watch will be waterproof again.
To this end, I was wondering if anyone has the dimensions of an original inner case back which they wouldn't mind sharing with me? I'll be measuring various bits of the case this evening and working off of some published pictures I can get dimensions for OD's and ID's but the total thickness/height of the inner cover and thickness of the material will still be unknown. If anyone knows or could be bothered to measure them, I'd be most appreciative.
