New acquisition. This model (a bumper-movement Seamaster) was the first one with which I started my collection. Many SMs have passed through my hands since, and I had none for a while. But this one is here to stay!

Frankly I didn't have the money to buy a watch that I don't know anything about such as is it worth the $, is it in good mechanical condition and if not how much am I going to spend to get it there.
But I'm gonna take your advice and start a thread.
Titled:
I could use a little help identifying some specifics on this watch

Those are pretty cool and usually not too expensive relatively easy to service but the crowns tend to go. I had amassed so many then it stuck me one day they all looked the same (various early seamasters that is) I sold and gave them as gifts but I now wish I had kept a couple. Nice watches I hope you get the info your looking for and are able to pick it up if you like it.

You're the second person that mentioned the crown. What do you mean by "crowns tend to go"? Do they get loose? Break in some way?
And yes...I did get helpful info from the OF.

The gasket is inside the crown so when the gasket goes you need to replace the entire crown rather than simply having your watchmaker put in a new gasket. I did find some people who had good crowns. Just something to be aware of with those if your in a humid area especially. Service crowns can be used and don’t worry I’m explaining it in very brief terms I’m not very knowledgeable myself.

Early 70’s goodness. Shares the same case with a Polerouter Sub, so maybe that’s the diver I need to chase next 😎

Went to a café today and enjoyed a cortado just people watching. As I sad there I saw an Omega Seamaster 300 (old 90’s version) and a Tudor Black Bay 36 walk by

Ho hum seiko terrapin kilz proof but my glasses aren’t. My buddies stopped by to see me

I met your buddy James in the '90s. Maybe there's some truth to the six degrees of separation rule.
