Still this one. No surprise. In spite of the fact I have to remember to wind it.

Finally done working I was able to slip on home shower and change watches between jobs. Really nice wearing an omega and I will only keep up this pace for a couple years I’ll probably put myself in an early grave but at least I know my wife will be ok along with the rest of the famdamalam.

Went to Hooters today with @ChuckMK23

Left to right…my 861 circa 1971, Chuck’s 1861 circa 2016, my 1861 circa 2015…

I wasn’t able to recruit any Hooters girls to be in a pic with me…so the cardboard Hooters NASCAR dude was recruited…

So a fellow member contacted me while he was out and about on the hunt (boots on the ground) and came across this lovely thing. He knew I had a sweet spot for vintage Bulova and Super Compressors- this one had alluded me for years.

He picked it up on his own dime and held on to it for me- I just got it tonight over dinner with him, our wives and another member who lives within driving distance.
Of course I just happened to have a period correct JBC bead&brick that was a perfect fit

This place is more than just a place for watch lovers- it’s a community of wonderful people who look out for each other.

I saw this at an antique store yesterday but aside from the being a Seamaster De Ville automatic and having a pretty nice medallion on the reverse I don't know anything about it...date...ref...etc...
Oh...seller says its gold capped.
Where should I post this if I'd like to get some info feedback?
Thanks

Start a thread. But I don’t think that’s gold capped, and why didn’t you buy it?

Edit- looks like it says “gold filled” at the bottom under the strap

Frankly I didn't have the money to buy a watch that I don't know anything about such as is it worth the $, is it in good mechanical condition and if not how much am I going to spend to get it there.
But I'm gonna take your advice and start a thread.
Titled:
I could use a little help identifying some specifics on this watch
