It's been fun witnessing the recent buzz around Scott Carpenter's original Cosmonaute...it makes me extra proud of my modern re-make 😀




...it was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Carpenter's Mercury flight


...and like the recently announced 60th anniversary re-make, the movement is a B-01 stripped down from self-winding to manual winding, which slimmed the watch by about 0.5mm compared to a modern Navitimer.. it's fairly svelte (by Navitimer standards), and the case diameter is reasonable as well, coming in at 42mm.
