Cool story (at least to me)

Had an eval today and patient was wearing this watch. It was a gift from his mother when he graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 1952. S. Kind & Sons was a jeweler in Philadelphia that closed in 1964 after 93 years of business. Its a Croton watch which I guess isn't really considered double stamped as Croton is not on the dial. He was in the Korean war and said he wore this watch throughout his tour, which given he is not the best historian, may or may not be true.

Nagging issue finally resolved.

Ref 2366 (and 2364) take a BF 8100/1136 crown. Try to find one; it's a minor miracle if you do.

How about that, posting right next to Dr. No!

Now I'm waiting for Ursula Andress to come walking out of the surf 😀

Still my resurrected Caravelle transistorized watch for 1970 which had hidden its light in a dark drawer full of parts watches, donor watches, and future projects, for likely 40 years. Original purchase price was $39.95 or $49.95. It is electro-mechanical, having a balance wheel, jewelled lever escapement, train wheels, a cell, coil and transistorized circuit, 12 jewels, and beats 21,600 bph. I haven’t fussed with it but there a something about it I have yet to uncover that causes it to lose about 10-seconds per day. I quite like it!

Vintage strap for a Vintage sub

Instead of a “Like” option, there should be a “Love!” Option for this one...
