Most are actually quite fanatical, many of them preferring to ride in -40 outside with fat studded tires than on the "bicycle that goes nowhere". Must come from listening to the beep....beep...beep all day every day
This one. From 1969. Not rare or unusual, but I am the second owner. I sold it new to the first owner in 1969, when I was in the retail jewellery business. The first owner and his wife followed me all the years I was in the business. When his wife passed away, he was at an age when he decided a senior’s lodge was the place for him. He must have known his days were numbered, and he phoned me one day, and asked if I would visit him at the lodge. I did, and he presented me with his cherished Accutron day/date. I don’t wear it often, because, as with gold filled cases, it has corroded around the case back, and the case doesn’t seal well. This was a popular style for Accutron in the late 1960s, and for some years after. Fifty three years old, and still performs beautifully.
