Still enjoying this beast… I have to say it looks nicer than a speedy…


It’s quite laughable that both below are rated at 42mm… I think the Chronomat cured my doubt that a Speedy is too large for me.

It’s quite laughable that both below are rated at 42mm… I think the Chronomat cured my doubt that a Speedy is too large for me.

I find it funny to think of an objective, provable fact as “laughable.” The two watches aren’t “rated” at 42mm by a panel of watch journalists; they are measured. Both watches have a case diameter of 42mm. They are exactly the same size. Furthermore, the Breitling has a 50mm lug to lug; the Speedy is 48. I’m NOT knocking the Breitling; it’s a (subjectively speaking) beautiful watch. It’s well made, great movement, great finishing.
My only point is that the watches can be objectively and accurately measured; and they have identical case sizes and the Breitling has a larger lug-to-lug measurement.
That said, it’s gorgeous and I hope it brings you years of enjoyment. Congratulations on the new acquisition!
