Really interesting looking truly classic. Is it bronze? Is it conversion? Wouldn’t make sense to be a pocket watch at that size but that watch has me interested and curious. I’m just thinking conversion because of the lugs but I’m a noob and easily confused.
I opened it up before having it repaired and forgot to take a pic of the inner case back. It had an engraved number and when I looked it up it made sense. Someone here will know more. Not bronze, and probably circa 1950 when Rolex were not always great. Not a pocket watch and not solid gold. It has been extremely accurate all day.
Dial is scratched.

What a find! Calibre 600. At the time that one was made, the maker Aegler was involved with Jules Jorgensen, Rolex, and Gruen. Aegler made the movement in yours. That base movement was used in the early Rolex self-winders. As much as I like your Skyrocket, this movement is superior to the FHF 30 (aka Rolex calibre 59, FHF 150) that is in the Skyrocket.

Afternoon change out.

I bought another 24 slot watch box and spend some time reorganizing several of the other 24 slot boxes into some sort of order, but whenever I look at the result it still looks like chaos to me.
Ended up with my very less worn Porta auto, too many watches to choose from, somewhat upsetting in that I love this watch but there are too many in the queue so many great watches never get a look in 🙁

How do you organize yours?

Is that a Two Stitch charcoal leather strap? Looks like the one I have on my FOIS. They make great straps.

You are 100% correct, I love Ivan’s work and have many straps from him and now you have made me think of it I will order another few I had in mind.

^ and I had to take it off lol, a tiny bit of condensation on the inside of the crystal. Shockingly humid for an October day in Vermont. So it’s airing out and I’ll wear this for now.
