For you, suddenly it's raining Datejusts! Congratulations for keeping this one in the family 😀

Haha, you're so right! Don't mind being showered in DJs at the moment 😉 Thank you @Jones in LA!

Exactly! I don't think my father wore it more than a few times. The bracelet has little to no flex/stretch with just some scratches on the clasp. I do have to service it (just need to find a good one in NYC area) as it's running about one minute fast and the crown screw is a bit tight.

While researching for a new DJ 126234 a few weeks ago, I discovered a few things I wanted in a DJ that I didn't want in the 126234, such as: slimmer hour markers, tapestry dial, champagne dial, super jubilee bracelet.

So after getting a 2016 DJ 116234 a couple weeks ago and now keeping my father's 16233, I may not need a black dial Rolex (in the immediate future). Haha 😉

Your dad had really good taste, I am not a great Rolex fan but your dads one does speak to me. Congratulations, it's nice to have something of great sentimental value to remember your dad by, my one is my dads Seamaster which like your dads saw close to no wear except for special occasions.

Your Rolex appears to have had little or no wear! Pristine, I think is the word that applies. The watch will last you longer than the money will last your mother. Think of it!

Yeah....you're doing her a HUGE favor !

Actually, my maternal grandmother gifted the Rolex to my father. My dad is a practical man and didn't want to wear anything that flashy. So it sat in the safe deposit box for almost 20 years. While chatting with my mom about the worldwide shortage of Rolexes, we thought to consolidate and use the funds to buy something newer. After opening the box, I had stars in my eyes and told her I was going to keep it 😉

I had always hated the two-tone jubilee bracelet and the cyclops. But this past year, I have come around to both features especially seeing Jennifer Aniston wearing the President during the Friends Reunion 😜

Two schools on this. I’d say “damaged.” The other school says, “patina.” ::stirthepot::

I prefer 'well-worn'.

Well, it is allegedly summer in the U.K., not that you can tell… but I’m on holiday so wearing my holiday lounging watch, but trying to decide which strap (this will be one of the few decisions I make today)

It will soon be 12pm and cocktail o’clock which is when I have to make my next major decision of the day (what to drink)…, so HAGWA!
