Well you developed and honed a skill in the law. Two times this year I got called to testify. I have no legal training of significance I don’t like that words I use could have (potentially) a major impact on someone’s life. By the way my plan to stay outside to avoid all interactions failed they actually came out to me but it all went smoothly this run.
It can be daunting if you’re neither familiar with nor comfortable in your surroundings.
I spent, and still spend, a lot of time watching Raymond Burr as Perry Mason - part hero, part inspiration - and he always won. It’s his little smile in the opening credits, where he spots something in the papers, that always gets me - we all tried to find it 😀

I once witnessed a collision between a Mercury sedan, and a Chrysler sedan. The Chrysler had three young men in it. The impact happened when the Mercury broadsided the Chrysler on the passenger side of the car. The Mercury ignored a YIeld sign! The Chrysler did did a 180, and in the process, the driver’s door flew open, and the driver flew out, and smacked his head on the curb. He was conscious at the scene. The ambulance took him away. I heard that later, he lost consciousness, and he had to endure a 7 hour brain operation. I gave my statement to the police, as the only lmpartial witness.

Months later, on a Friday afternoon, I was served with a subpoena, and told to appear in court, Monday of the following week. I told the process server that it would not be possible for me to appear because we were getting married the following day. I made the mistake of telling him where we were honeymooning. He told me to appear, or there would be a warrant for my arrest!

I appeared. They told me to take a seat outside the court room, which I did. Thirty five minutes later, everybody files out of court. Trial OVER! To this day, 55+ years later, I still wonder what the hell happened! It appears there must have been NO CONTEST, and my testimony wasn’t needed. Dunno!

That was when both Mercury and Chrysler were made of copious quantities of steel and had ponderous weight. Must have been like the collision of two freight trains.

well gotta be honest just lately I’ve been much more involved behind the scenes with the court system and it has changed my outlook to a more positive light. I have many critiques of the US justice system but recently I’ve been in judges chambers talking baseball, prosecutors working with not against the defense so it’s been very enlightening for me even though I didn’t ask for it. Plus me being the guy not facing charges changed things a lot. Darn taking this off topic let me toss in a watch picture just giving this guy a little clean.

This all happened in 1966, so the two cars involved were built like barges.

Yes it is. Super comfortable and so far I prefer it over the strap. A little tougher to show off Snoopy orbiting the moon but worth the trade off ! 😁

Huge congrats!!!...and welcome to the club...YaY!

Ah, yes I see them: Mushroom Pushers! Do I see a CB facet or am I hallucinating?

Thanks @Lou P , it means a lot. I'm thrilled [almost] beyond words 😀

It's funny how one's perspective changes over time. Here's how I saw things five years ago:

"...[I'm a] Magpie

If it don't shine, ain't gonna wear it. Appalled by $10,000 vintage Speedmasters that look like they were dropped in a parking lot, then run over by a few dozen motorists."

Oh, if it were only $10,000 😵‍💫

Time to revive this for Jones in LA! I have to admit it was my wallpaper/screensaver for awhile a couple years ago.

Hoping for the best for you.

First shot left nothing more than an itchy mosquito bite mark for about an hour for me. Second shot was a fair imitation of the flu for three days.
