Ha ha. Handsome kitty by the way, not fat, big boned and healthy. I was a little shocked at first when that lady so viciously verbally assaulted my watch and for a 1/4 of a second thoughts of telling her about its make and year crossed my mind but in the end I just laughed and said “yeah it kinda is ugly.” Because it kinda is but that’s one of the many reasons I like it.
The original Tim Horton’s location, Hamilton, Ontario. The original building,,above. In the same location today, not the same building, of course. Established in 1964. If only NHL player TIM Horton was around to see he chain, now! Oh yes, a watch!
This design from reference CK2915-1 circa 1957 started it all, and announced what is arguably the most famous chronograph of all time (sorry Daytona, but the Speedmaster came first, with outer tachymeter bezel, and went to the Moon). Speedmaster 1957, 60th Anniversary on @uncleseiko Flat Link 19mm
108° in the shade...gotta keep spraying off with the garden hose all day so vintage watches are contraindicated...and besides...I like this one!
My big crown (original) Roamer 44 today. This was my first Roamer that I ever bought and the start of my love affair with the 44 Jewel MST 436/7 calibre watches, outstanding accurate given that they didnt bother to COSC certificate or label them but it certainly is well within the spec. My 436 which I posted last week ( non date) is the only one that hasn't been dead accurate loosing about 20 to 30 secs per day since it came back from service last week, so that went back to my WM this afternoon to see if he can get it where it should be but I do remember him saying he did have some issues with the balance wheel set up when I picked it up last week.
Not normally one to post in WRUW more than once a day. But he got me again and when I picked up the Captain from service I left with more than the Captain which has necessitated a change for cocktails
