Enjoying a Red SUN Easter. Can’t hand wind this movement so I guess I can’t sit around too much today.
When I first saw this watch, I thought, “a hot August 1963 Saturday, on the beach,” imagining wearing it then. Once again, I was rocked by an uncompromising desire. Sigh. Anyway, it turned out to be in lovely condition, with a correct bracelet in similar condition. 1 - I love finding watches that the original owners didn’t care for. 2 - After spending months studying for-sale 60’s Rolex tool watches, looking at contemporaneous Oyster Perpetuals for sale is a treat. While the tools watches present a minefield of cobbled together garbage, with nary a worthy buy, some of the OPs are real catches.
Over lunch I was questioned as to why this Seamaster is seldom seen ? No real answer but felt obliged to have a quick change
Because mine’s put away. Bought from a fellow OF member some time ago. I saw it first right here, on WRUW, and PM’ed the owner. Took a while, but it was worth it. Haven’t worn it in a long time, I’m embarrassed to admit. Too many damn watches.
