Seiko go (5),
automatic 3-hander, day-date
Blue dial, white-blue inner bezel,
Ref. #6119-6040
japanese home market model
Build: July 1968

Having a 6119 movement, constructed in the 1960s for realiabilty and durability.
Introduced in 1967, it runs very well, like you expect from an old Seiko.

They were new and are still today pretty cheap watches, but how often you see one ....?!

[...came upon this fellow yesterday on the same track, a juvenile Western Diamondback about 20cm (8in.) in length. Not a great photo as it was hurrying to get away. This is my first rattler spotting of 2021 and will certainly not be the last.

Great photo - but I’d have thought it would be you ‘hurrying to get away' rather than the snake - I certainly would have 😀

Switched to a favourite terrestrial tool watch for a 5km tramp in the hills...

With all the hiking I’ve done in the local mountains, and coastal preserves I’ve never seen a rattlesnake. Heck I even IDed and collected a snake that ended up expanding it’s recognized distribution. Kings, gophers, 4 types of lizards... not a single rattler of any flavor!

im also the only person to dive extensively in the Bahamas and never see a nurse shark...

Visited my Mom on her 87th birthday! Masks and plexiglass between us, but at least we were in the same room talking fairly normally. She's full vaccinated too, which is great. She was pregnant with me when my Dad and she purchased this Speedmaster in March of 1967 on a trip to Jamaica. I showed it to her and her comment was "Elle est encore brillante!" It' still shiney! She generally remembers the purchase but not much detail. Can you imagine trying to remember a purchase you personally didn't care much about from 54 years ago? I can't remember what I had for lunch!

Oh and she religiously wears a titanium Seiko quartz SGG609 on Bond NATO...YaY!

What a lovely lady and these finger nails 🥰, belated birthday wishes from Scotland 👍

This is stunning. still one of the best vintage watches from Omega. Love that black dial with that patina...
