Uncle Nate had a Conquest same as yours. Stolen in a burglary: the thief got away with a bottle of Johnny Walker and his Longines.
Switched to a favourite terrestrial tool watch for a 5km tramp in the hills... ...came upon this fellow yesterday on the same track, a juvenile Western Diamondback about 20cm (8in.) in length. Not a great photo as it was hurrying to get away. This is my first rattler spotting of 2021 and will certainly not be the last.
Visited my Mom on her 87th birthday! Masks and plexiglass between us, but at least we were in the same room talking fairly normally. She's full vaccinated too, which is great. She was pregnant with me when my Dad and she purchased this Speedmaster in March of 1967 on a trip to Jamaica. I showed it to her and her comment was "Elle est encore brillante!" It' still shiney! She generally remembers the purchase but not much detail. Can you imagine trying to remember a purchase you personally didn't care much about from 54 years ago? I can't remember what I had for lunch! Oh and she religiously wears a titanium Seiko quartz SGG609 on Bond NATO...YaY!
