Kontiki today. It’s all about the medallion. Rivals Constellation for coolness.

While delving into my stash today, searching for a Gruen movement to cannibalize, I dug into a box of orphan watches that I had forgotten about, for at least the past 35 years, and lo and behold, what do I uncover? The latest addition to my collection. The movement is a 23-jewel Gruen, calibre 629SS, Automatic wind, and is in nice shape. The case is 14-karat gold shell over stainless steel. So today, I stripped it and conditioned it, fitted a period correct bracelet to it, and put it on. I’m running out of places to store my burgeoning collection of watches. What a nice problem to have. The best part of this is that tomorrow (the 10th) is my birthday. 😀

Well, you can't see the movement anyway, so... buy one! haha I am only kidding

This is my first watch of this style. Sub 36mm, and with a dressy leather strap. Also, my first hand wind watch. I love it.
We need a Timex confessional thread. I own a bunch. Love the Marlins.
