Thanks a lot dsio. Actually before getting the Memomatic I was looking at Seamaster 300 after reading your indepth review in this forum. But I get scared of fake and hard to get the original piece, so finally settled with that piece. I'm loving it.

Finally found it, purchased if I remember correctly in '77 worn a lot and then put away safely - so safely it has taken forever to find it.
Popped in a new cell and away we go.

Today a little piece of nostalgia, at the tail end of Scotland being a great manufacturing nation Westclox in Dumbarton (near Glasgow) produced this wristwatch.
Approximate date of manufacture is 1966 and has the somewhat rare Scottish movement, most had the USA unit.
The cp on these cases is fantastic and generally are in far better shape than comparable pieces from that era, the face, ah well I probably looked better back then 😀

16750. Best of both worlds (acrylic crystal, faded bezel, matte dial, but with quick-set date, something Rolex should have had at least a decade earlier, frankly).

This is one watch I agree with the hard-core Rolex guys that faded & weathered is better. 👍

Of course, though some guys prefer nipples.
