Best thing about having watches put away is you enjoy them all over again when they’re retrieved.

For many, because the gold plate has worn through on the tips of its lugs, this would be considered an undesirable watch.

On the other hand, I love it for its dial

I suspect that, despite the loss of plating, this watch led a sheltered life.

Just back from a pusher replacement. Sourced the part on Ebay and a local watchmaker repaired it overnight. All good finally.

Looks like a more user-friendly design than the usual bracelets made in the Philippines for the USA forces back in the day. Nice adjustments for sizing.


The ones made in the Philippines were custom made and so, designed for the individual.

These were designed to accommodate the widest possible sizing by the US Government, "one size fits all"

(apparently, my camera's focus is on the beer bottle and not the watch) 😀

Oh Man that would really pop on a rivet oyster! Love stainless with gold markers and hands. Very 50's 60's snazz!

Thanks, trying to find a nice oyster for it eventually. Watch is from 1950/51 according to serial.

Late entry for Sunday...my modern Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch on an Omega Barenia leather NATO...with a freshly Griot’s Garage tire shined right front tire on my 2007 Ford Police Interceptor in the background...good times! 👍

Vintage (1950s) Eberhard Extra-fort 18k rose gold monopusher column-wheel chronograph. Very happy that the gold case is in excellent condition, retaining the original brushed/polished surfaces almost all intact.

The creeper today. Day off so time to rectify something that has been bugging me for ages, new boots as the old strap was showing way too much spring bar action. Can't believe I haven't been pinged by the spring bar police😀
