I think I figured it out, why I'm just not feeling this watch. This is the main experience I get from wearing the NTTD:
It's so tough to see anything on the dial as the crystal is so reflective. This problem is exacerbated by the drab, dull colors of the lume and markers.
Plexi crystal is great, military-themed drab colors are great. But when you put them together you get a mirror :/
Only in direct light, particularly sunlight, is the watch readable at a quick glance.
One of two today. Serviced, and testing on the wrist. Probably on the way back to it’s owner in the next day or so. Anyone here recognize it? One OB habituè most certainly will! Interesting problem with this one. It had been serviced previously (not by me), and whoever serviced it, misplaced one tiny plate screw. That screw was replaced with a mismatching screw. The watch came to me with both regulators on the fast side as far as they would go, but the watch was losing two minutes a day! I figured servicing it might solve the problem. It did, sort of. After cleaning the tuning fork, what do I find but the missing screw stuck to one cone-shaped magnet on one tine of the tuning fork! Little wonder it was losing! As soon as it is running within 60 seconds per month, it goes back to the owner. Privacy honored.
Why do you have to look at the dial - need to know time? - Look at the phone 😉.
Seriously though, it is a beautiful watch though, I love everything about it, the dial, the hands, the color and will gladly take it off you hands.
My birthday is this week, so this 105.012 is making frequent appearances on my wrist as it was purchased new by my Dad, 4 months before I was born. The Extract has it leaving the factory 1 week short of 9 months before the day I was born! Go figure!
