Today I'm wearing my 1000M. It was serviced in 2008 at STS in the UK, the owner at the time elected to have the dial, hands, date wheel and bezel replaced with NOS. Fortunately when I bought it last year it came with all the original parts, bar the hands. I called in to see STS a couple of months ago and dropped off a few watches, including the 1000M, along with the original parts plus a spare set of hands I found on eBay. Simon Freese at STS looked after the restoration of the dial, which had some paint missing, and matching the lume in the hands to that on the dial. The watch was serviced and put back together with the 2008 date wheel (the original had the crown on the right, not so comfortable). It came back this week, I think it looks fantastic and suspect it will be welded to my wrist for some time.

That麓s by far the nicest 1000 I麓ve ever seen. 馃槑

I have quite a few of the 1970s models, including a 600, and love this Omega design period. But for some reason the 1000 was always the one that never grabbed me....that is until now. 馃槈

FECKING BAD A$$

The new one (ref. 3725). I will have to get used to the bling factor (something tells me it won't be a problem 馃槈 )

The last few shots are by the collector/watchmaker from whom I acquired it

I wore my Sherpa Graph this morning at the gun range until a buddy of mine called saying he wanted me to look at a Rolex GMT he bought at an estate sale.

It's not mine yet but this is what happens when you mix Pepsi and chocolate together..

What an amazing watch, I love the styling and the condition is incredible 馃榾 And it looks like it was 5 to 10 for about 30 years with that singed radium burn!

Is that bracelet original to the watch and what are the dimensions?

Thanks, Cristos. The watch dates to the early '40s, but the bracelet is from 1949 (the earlier rivet bracelets were untapered, and did not have the Rolex crown on the clasp); it was added to it by the previous owner since they match so well (apparently the original owner of the bracelet had bought it for a yellow gold Omega (!), according to his son). The size is a standard bubbleback size, 32mm wihout crown. Yes, too bad about the radium burn, which fortunately is less noticeable to the naked eye. The lume is still pretty effective in the dead of night.

Well it looks fantastic and the burn only enhances the character IMHO. 馃榾

4 hours at work, and 4 hours at home washing 4 of the bikes, wash and HP tune on the F250 and a start on the third timing belt change on a 259,000 mile camry. POS, but I love that car!
Time to relax with an 18yr single malt and a Padron smoke with my Crisp new watch from my new friend in Brazil.
