I'll be wearing this now that it's back from the Spa.

Check out the rate of +/- 0 (doesn't get batter than that)

On this date thirty years ago, my wife “surprised” me with this watch. I had convinced her that nobody ever buys himself a Rolex. We had looked at these on countless occasions, but I could never bring myself to take the heat for spending that much money.

It’s a watch that I wore daily for over a decade; and even though others have been added over the years, it remains my sentimental favorite.

So, that’s what I’m wearing today…

It's a fabulous watch, and an even better story behind it!

Hammy Niner Niner Two Bravo railroad machine for Monday...

Wow -- $105 for that watch. That would have been several months wages for the average working Joe. Could be the Rolex of its time?

You’re referencing my Hammy Niner Fife Zero [circa 1927] which I wore yesterday for Church...$105 back then is about $1,400 to $1,500 today. I’m not sure if the Niner Fife Zero could be considered as the Rolex of its time...but it was recognized as a high grade railroad pocket watch.

Yeah, I guess that price isn't too Rolex-ey. Your CPI calc is spot-on. But beautiful watches nevertheless.

1954 bumper, younger than me and, unlike me, doesn’t look much different after 65 years. Certainly much more accurate than it’s wearer.

Managed the day off. Finished my goal for the day and now it is time for a bourbon and nice watch😀 I have never seen another one of these.

And the goal, pretty up some very hot plain black gates in our courtyard.
Great idea - really makes a difference. 😀

Rockford 18s KWKS twins from circa 1876 with GW Ladd Heavy GF cases, and original era keys not reproductions.

GW Ladd designed and made outstanding cases.

Boot and jean day and I chose the Hunter.
