1888 Illinois model 1 in a solid silver case, slow train:4 beats/sec = 2hz = 14400bph!

you know there's some heavy bits moving around in there when you can hear it ticking in your pocket while you're walking along.

The model 1 was an easy model to produce for either an open faced case (yours), or a hunter cased model such as mine. Simply install the movement 90° CCW, and voila. A hunter case watch. There was a difference in the cuvette, as the winding aperture had to be drilled 90° CCW for the hunter cased model, as well. Nice!

Took the Seamaster down to the beach at Godrevy Point to watch the sunset, unfortunately clouds decided that the setting sun wasn’t going to be seen 🙁, this was as good as it got 😉

I have another open face model one that dropped its roller jewel. Not usually a problem, unless the man who is servicing it looses your case! It’s in a nice hunter case now, so I’ve experienced the versatility of owning a key wind movement the hard way!

In defence of the watchmaker... he retired soon after as Alzheimer’s took a more solid grip and the reason for the lost case became clear. A sad way to end a career.

Nice tee shirt.

You better not have that on if you get pulled for speeding in your crown vic.... you might just get charged with impersonating an officer.

.... or they might offer you a job.
