Wearing one of my favorites again today...circa 1969-70 1133G
Nice Monaco. Always think of Heisenberg when I see one. Square and the contrast of the sub-dials, great.

Went to this school almost 30 years ago. Now my son has accepted a summer research position here, so we got a chance to go visit today. I got a kick out of the 24/7 Study Area.

That looks like SDSU.

When I was stationed at NASNI at HSL-41 and HSL-45 in the 1980s and 1990s, I used to cruise up to SDSU on my Suzuki GSX-R750 [Gixer!] and attempt to pick up SDSU chicks. No joy...I got shot down every time. On a positive note, at least I got to ride my Gixer. 👍

Very nice indeed, and not seen often.
Here's one of my most unusual watches - I think?
Laco sport from the 1950's with a special inscription from Volkswagen

Can’t read some of the dial, but “bruchsicher”, Google translate tells me is “shatterproof”. A company with an interesting past. I wonder why we don’t see more of these. My Laco says hello.

The first VW I ever saw, belonged to a janitor at my junior high school, back in about 1953. A bunch of ne’er do wells carried the VW from where it was parked on the street, up about ten stairs, along a sidewalk about 70 or 80 feet long, up another ten stairs or so, and parked it in the portico leading to the front entrance to the school. I didn’t see it, but I heard about it. Trouble, with a capital “T” over that escapade!
