Took the caseback off my late father’s Parker automatic watch for the first time today - traced it back to 1965-69, with a German movement and ROWI German band (though he was based in London). I guess it would have been nice if he’d bought a Speedmaster instead, but to me this is priceless as it was bought around the time I was born, so I’m wearing it proudly today, and it still keeps time very accurately 😁

That watch is priceless, and worth getting a proper service and clean-up. I have my grandfathers GF bumper Gruen and despite it not being worth anything and rarely worn, I keep it serviced and in occasional rotation.

My two day old Speedmaster on a Haveston “Roundel ‘43” strap, swapped off my Hamilton Field Mechanical. My daughter is down in DC this weekend and she’s visiting her great-grandfather’s grave in Arlington National Cemetery, so I’m kinda feeling my military roots today.

Sunday special. Clocks changed so got this one out.
Very nice! I have an earlier iteration of this model in transit, scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.

Overdue wrist time for my 3552.59 Speedmaster Racing. Weird fame-to-claim on this one: of the gazillions of Speedmaster variants, I think this is the only 42mm mooncased Speedmaster with >= 100m WR and all-white hands.

Here's the logic:
All Moonwatches have lower WR
Ealier auto Speedies were smaller or had lower WR.
BAs and Schumacher models of its era had metalized hands.
Later 9300 models are larger or cased differently.

Who cares, you ask? Well...I suppose if you luv the Moonwatch's famous case design and all-white hands legibility, but desire better WR,...oh and an automatic with date...I think this is weirdly, the only option!
