Please forgive my lazy nature but how did you manage to regulate (2) shakers to have identical time, down to the seconds hand? Do these movements hack and I never figured it out on my own (I’ve a few Seiko like yours) ???
Good eye, sir. The 6309-7049 is not supposed to be hackable...BUT...when I had it serviced/overhauled a few years ago by Mr. Randall Benson from Seikoholics, he informed me that it is “back hackable”...by setting the time slowly backwards and with a minimal wind, you can stop the sweep hand. That’s how I hack my 6309-7049. The SRP777K1 [4R36 movement] has a hack feature.
Moe The above (3) watches ^^ have a common theme (other than being very vintage sized @ 34mm as well as each being a one owner watch: You can easily tell that each watch was enjoyed by their respective owner. I’m glad to be the new steward for these tasteful timepieces.
Yes, you’re right! It’s not the original. The owner, who was a pilot, had it changed with an original omega seamaster 300 seconds. For more legibility... The seconds dates apparently from the late 50s, as well, since the lume on the seconds aged the same way as the lume on the hour and minute hands.
