An oversized watch and undersized beer.

Not sure why the pic is showing sideways, only had two of these baby beers.

Many thanks to NJNJCFP88, Citizenrich and Texas Toast for sharing their wonderful sunburst dials today. You have lit a fire under my lazy backside to give some long overdue love to my 1959 Bulova 23 "OW"....I replaced the ratty "gold tone" band it came with when I bought it with a tan pig skin band, and it is off to the WM Thursday for a new crystal and a tune up. Thanks guys! Cheers!!

What interesting synchronicity - I don't see too many sunburst dials (not that I've done a lot of looking) but this morning chose my grandfather's 1958-1961 timeframe Hamilton SeaGlo (Hamilton 671/ETA 1080 Swiss movement). Need to run the serial # but at least 2 yrs later than your "K" so looks like Hamilton might have riffed a bit on Bulova's in-house work!
Nice!

Look what arrived today. 😀 Another “but for Omega Forum” watch.

In other words, how would I know to lust after this watch if I’d never been made aware of it?

Nicer than in photos, but it does need a service.

So, I asked earlier: anyone else on OF have one of these Mimo-Logas?

Unpopular square watch today, the weight of the bumper movement inside is pretty heavy.

Resurrected from my stash. A mid ‘50s Gruen caliber 415, 17 jewels, manual wind. At some time in its past, someone decided not to have it repaired, so it has langoured for at least 45 years. It needed cleaning, balance staff, crown, and crystal, and it appears someone didn’t want to spend the money. It appears as though it had never been serviced, but it must have been a reliable watch for someone, since the gold filled case shows a bit of brassing. I liked the dial. I liked the case. The movement is pristine. So I did the repairs, and put a generic strap on it. Would you call the lugs “crab legged”.
