Just scooped up this 1956 Bulova 23 ....can’t beat it for $100. That’s about what it costs when new. The recessed crown makes this dress watch imo.
Great find! Looks like a 23 “R”. The 10BPAC automatic movement used in the “23” is a great motor. My recollection is it was Bulova’s first totally in-house designed and U.S. built movement. Here is my 1956 23 “K”.

What interesting synchronicity - I don't see too many sunburst dials (not that I've done a lot of looking) but this morning chose my grandfather's 1958-1961 timeframe Hamilton SeaGlo (Hamilton 671/ETA 1080 Swiss movement). Need to run the serial # but at least 2 yrs later than your "K" so looks like Hamilton might have riffed a bit on Bulova's in-house work!

That’s a very handsome Hamilton, and the case size wears “modern”....I might have to start looking for one....I love vintage designs, but the cases are often too small for my wrist. The textured “sunburst” dial was popular with several manufacturers from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s. Here are a couple Crotons with champagne sunburst dials and a Bulova “23” having a black sunburst dial...I apologize for the quality of the latter photo. Cheers!

Nice sunburst dials, gentlemen.

Here’s another and it’s one of my favorite watches:
