I pulled out my 1016 Explorer. I’d never checked the serial number (!) and I was curious enough to fetch it.
I bought this in 1987, from a second hand watch shop, for maybe $425. It was my daily watch for about ten years after
So, 1967 or so. It does not hack.
To me, still the prettiest Rolex dial and hands. And, it is so comfortable on the wrist - i.e., the right size too!
