Ha. I was wondering if someone would pick up on that song. Heard it on the Sirius while getting ready. Annie has a great voice. Video is cool too
After the vintage Longines Chrono, now comes a modern re edition. Second time I bought this model, now it will probably stay with me longer
In a post to WRUW on January 1, I showed an Accutron 214 which I added to my collection of Accutrons, that day. I suggested (tongue in cheek) that I might strive to add a watch every day for 365 days. Well, I missed collecting a watch on January 2, but I added a watch on January 3, and I show it here for the first time. This 218 model is assembled from bits and pieces which I have lucked into. So from that standpoint, it might be considered a Frankenwatch. The movement and case are from the late 1960s, but the gold filled case back is engraved with a presentation date of 1979. I will get into my stash later to see if I have a case back more suited to the rest of the watch. The dial and hands (also from my stash) are matching, and period correct. I now have 23 Accutron 214s, 218s, Accuqartz (tuning fork model), digital Computron, and Accuquartz 955 Q watches. Who knows what tomorrow may hold?
I hate nato straps.... Never really go well with any watch (imho), and the couple I have rarely see the light of day.... Until now....and really, I should not have been surprised should I?....I mean, a “Bond Nato”?....what other Watch could this strap possibly have been made for! Suffice to say, I am re-evaluating my stance on natos!
