I wondered where the case was made, so I am not surprised it was of English origin. I have a Rolex Oyster circa 1950, in a 9 karat case (of English origin though it is not marked as such), which has a 10 karat back which is marked in all the ways you’d expect a Swiss Made 10 karat Rolex back to be marked.
