Date discs on many Omegas of that era are made of plastic. The internal teeth chip. When that happens, the calendar does what yours is doing. Replacing the disc is the only cure. Replacement NOS plastic ones are hard to find. I recently read that after market metal discs are available. No idea how to locate either. The last one I found for an Omega of mine, I found on eBay. It came from a collector in Mannheim, Germany.

The date wheel tooth are complete and intact. My watchman once said the date wheel slightly moves because it doesn't have spring which hold the wheel tight???

... but since I was due to do a bit of garage clearance and recycling, figured something else would be more appropriate

It’s still double dog Seiko Saturday with the beloved 6309-7049 and reissue SRP777K1...at the gym...giving it the old college try with the new “stretchy jeans” [Levi’s 511s]...super dooper technology in my humble opinion.

Got my UK Ed White back from the spa — it didn’t even need a service. But I put a proper A1 crown on it (thank you @omegastar !). :)

I’ve also put it on an 1125 bracelet (thank you @Toishome !).

Bad news is the Istanbul Ed White has a broken hammer spring (infamous part 1734). :oops:Now on the look out for more Omega unobtainium. Ah well... win some and lose some.

One thing not in doubt: I am indebted to OF and its members.

EDIT: ordered two 1734s from these guys, found from another OF thread!
    https://ernst-westphal.de/en/

Even unobtainium can be obtained with OF’s help!
