I put the BB58 back on its bracelet today...think I'm going to keep it on it, it's so much more comfortable than a nato.

Wearing another project today, a 105.012-66CB with a nice case but service luminova dial and hands. It came to me this way, including the really nice DON bezel, from eBay earlier this year, for $5.5k, which seemed like a screaming good deal (a known vulnerability of mine.😗 )

I did replace a flat bottomed chrono hand that was on the watch with the drop end that’s on it now, but still luminova.

I just replaced the modern dust cover I found in it with a period correct one.

Had originally thought of leaving it as I got it - and using it as a sleeping watch (yay luminova!)

Now thinking of returning it to tritium. I already have a dial, just need the tritium hands. I doubt I’d bother replacing the service pushers though - the narrow necks look sort of cool.

Part of me still wants to leave it the way I found it. Sure, its face is a little ‘white’ instead of yellow, but the watch as a whole ‘works’ the way it is. Hard to achieve when you start replacing stuff (again).

I’d love to hear opinions...
I personally like a watch freshened up. As a non-collector, I like new clean watches. I’m not a fan of patina so I love what you’ve done ✅

Today I shall wear the thinner of these:
1. The Bauhaus styled, Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope
2. The 8500 Aqua Terra, 41mm variant with date frame

The elegant Max Bill has a disadvantage being a 7750 based chronograph but has no running seconds hand, no applied markers, and low low WR, around 30m I believe.

The sapphire sandwich AT has the feature packed 8500, 60 hr power, co-axial, blah blah blah…plus applied markers with appreciable thickness,...AND is burdened with 150m of WR.

Here we go…

Max Bill: 14.1mm

While the AT measures 12.9mm

So yes, with its domed crystal and caseback the Max Bill is thicker...it least in the center…but it sure disguises it well on the wrist though!

True to my word...and not to be kicked out of bed…I am wearing the AT. YaY!

@Lou P, I would never have guessed that Max Bill was packing a 7750! That is good design .
