Something cheap and simple from the 'also ran" biscuit box as it's been a while.....if Vetta was good enough for the 50's Ferrari racing team.....
Another Friday, another watch to be chosen to wear for the next week. But before that, a few brief observations on last week’s choice – my Orient Blue Mako. What a cracking value for money piece. I know Seiko gets lots of love when it come to value for money, but the Mako really grew on me over the week. Imho, it has just the right amount of wrist presence, for those that value such things, an in-house movement (46943) with a really efficient rotor and on my wrist over the week, I’d estimate it was within 2-4 seconds per day accuracy. But back in the box it has gone, and for the next seven days another decidedly non-Swiss watch takes its place. With a Miyota 9015 movement, a nicely sized cushion case, great lume from the sandwich dial and a useful dual time complication, from that well known hotbed of horology, the Land of the Long White Cloud comes the Magrette Dual Time. P.S. If anyone is interested in Magrette packaging, I made an unboxing post here.
Thanks very much. It’s a lot of watch for the price. Whether you like the aesthetics and bulk of some tudors or not is another matter however. I never did, but like this one for some reason.
Hawaiian shirt Friday at the office. Grey perlon for the shoes. 3 hour later edit...just realized I butchered the spelling of "Hawaiian" when posting from my phone lol.
