Today my first ever Ebay purchase arrived. It’s not Swiss, not mainstream, not vintage and has a Miyota auto movement. So why this? Well I was looking for something a bit unusual, and it seemed to tick all the boxes. Anyhow, pictures tell a thousand words...... Firstly, some shots of the packaging etc. It comes in an attractive zip-fastening leather case that opens up to reveal a spare strap (drilled lugs –yay!) and the makers contact details. The rest of the documentation nestles in the cardboard outer shell. Inside the case is a travel wallet and the watch itself. Altogether, a nicely put together package. As for the watch itself, I won’t go into detail, suffice to say it sits comfortably on my relatively small wrist, both crown functions work as expected and the lume is certainly eye-catching! If you want more details have a look here http://www.magrette.com/ or http://www.ablogtowatch.com/magrette-dual-time-watch-review/ Overall, I’m one very happy bunny (or mouse)
Just as a small followup, you may notice a small scuff/scratch on the caseback. The original eBay listing showed something similar and was queried about it (not by me). The seller stated that it was a bad photo and there was no scratch. On receipt, as with most on-line purchases, I took photos, including the scratch and contacted the seller to point this out. They apologised profusely, took full responsibility and immediately refunded 25% of the purchase price without any further prompting. Yes, I know it shouldn't have happened, but the way it was dealt with was more than satisfactory. Given some of the stories out there about eBay bandits/fraudsters/crooks, I just thought I'd share an example a seller who accepts responsibility and deals with a complaint properly
Here is the photo I actually sent to the seller which shows it's a bit more than a little scuff. I suspect needle-nosed pliers may have been involved Anyhoo, I don't spend much time drooling over casebacks, so I'm happy
