Beaters come in handy. Yesterday, we were late departing to a shindig out of town, and I needed a watch in a hurry. Went to my stash, looking for a running battery watch. This one surfaced. Several years ago, I serviced it for a friend of a friend. When it came to paying for the repair, the owner changed his mind. All I have in this one is sweat equity, and a cell. Caliber 955.114 ETA. This movement has been around for decades, is easily serviced, very reliable. And as much as I am not a quartz watch fan, this is one of the good ones.

The lawn is well and truly mown. Weeded as well. When the going gets tough the humble Glycine huntin', fishin', beater watch always comes through.

Lume shots are always fun. Wish I had a watch with big lume. Nary a watch on the place has any noteworthy lume. The Speedmaster's lume is gasping its last as is an early 80s Seiko diver recently acquired. The rest are deader'n virginity.

I’ve been riding the BLRO wave these last couple days. Out to dinner a lot lately. Anywho, the 16710 picks up the sunlight rather well.
